The event commenced with the registration of attendees, followed by a networking session that provided an opportunity for participants to engage and exchange ideas.
Inaugural Session
The program began with the recitation of Tilawat (Quranic verses) and a Naat, setting a reflective and respectful tone for the event. Following this, the National Anthem was played, fostering a sense of unity among the attendees.
Welcome Address: A representative from LCWU delivered the welcome address, extending a warm greeting to all participants and setting the stage for the day’s discussions.
Opening Remarks: Mr. Noman Akhtar, Director of Social Affairs at the National Alliance for Safe Food (NAFS), provided the opening remarks. He also highlighted the activities of NAFS in relation to World Food Day, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to improving food safety and nutrition.
Presentations:
- Mr. Awais Ali, Head of Business Development at Qarshi Research International and Vice President of Planning & Development at NAFS, delivered a presentation on the theme of World Food Day. His talk focused on the importance of healthy diets and strategies to achieve zero hunger.
- Mr. Farrukh Ali Ashraf, Head of Quality Assurance at Carrefour and Vice President of Technical & Research at NAFS, followed with a talk on relevant topics, providing insights into quality assurance practices and their impact on food safety and nutrition.
Closing Session
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by an LCWU representative, who expressed appreciation to all speakers, participants, and organizers for their contributions.
Shield/Certificate Distribution: Shields and certificates were distributed to acknowledge the participation and contributions of the speakers and key contributors, celebrating their efforts in promoting the World Food Day theme.
